Camp Sagemont offers an outstanding Academic Advantage Plus (formerly known as Summer School). The Academic Advantage program offers a comprehensive opportunity for elementary students from 1st to 5th grade to review, fill in educational gaps, academic maintenance and/or working ahead preparing students for the challenges they will face in the upcoming school year. Within the Academic Advantage program students will select two of the four offered areas of study; Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Camper assessments will be completed using Star testing to identify each student’s strengths and deficit areas in which individualized instruction is planned. This Star testing will also be utilized as a tool to measure student improvement throughout the four weeks. Every Friday, progress reports will be sent home with each student to communicate the student’s achievements and areas of continued progress each week. Campers will have Academic Advantage instruction from 9 AM to 12 PM and then have the option to join the rest of the campers in their age group for the remainder of the afternoon as part of the Academic Advantage Plus Camp package.
