The elite Leaders in Training program at Camp Sagemont prepares students entering 9th and 10th grade for demands of being a camp counselor. This interactive leader in training program helps to identify and develop each individual’s leadership skills. LITs will learn and be exposed to Camper/Parent interaction, planning/leading activities, team work and supervision. LITs will work closely with a variety of camp groups gaining different techniques and strategies for leading from different leadership styles. LITs will also attend weekly workshops and training sessions that will range in topics from, “What Qualities does a Leader Possess” to “Classroom Management”, “Redirection & Problem Solving” and “Camp Games & Activities.” LITs will earn first aid, CPR and AED certification. Upon completion of the program LITs will be able to apply these skills to their personal lives, to a camp environment and other leadership positions.
