As a camper at Camp Sagemont, I made lasting memories each summer swimming with friends, eating popsicles on the playground, and playing board games with my bunk mates! Every day at camp was a new adventure, where I got to try Karate, assemble creative snacks in cooking, and play Pac Man tournaments at the arcade.
Eventually, I started to try new specialty camps. My experiences in Art Camp, Science Camp and adventure camp exposed me to many different things each summer. The short sessions made it possible for me to explore a lot of my different interests.
Finally, when I was old enough to go into the Leader’s In Training (LIT) program, I was able to give back to the camp by helping other kids have the same experiences that I had. This put my leadership skills to the test.
Truthfully, I would wait all year excited for color war, thinking up new fun chants, and hoping that I would be on the winning team!
In Art Camp, I went on a field trip to the West Palm Beach Art Museum that inspired me to explore art further in high school. I am really glad that I got to participate in camp and am happy that I spent one summer being a Junior Counselor…. memories I will always cherish.
